1. Who we are
The internship programme is provided and certified by Data Expert Technologies Pvt. Ltd., of Raj Nagar Part 2, Palam Colony, New Delhi. This portal is built and run on its behalf by Data Expert ICT, which also receives the registration fee.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Data Expert Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here — it decides why and how your data is processed — and Data Expert ICT acts as its Data Processor, handling that data only on its instructions. You are the Data Principal. In practice you may raise any request with either, at the single address below, and it will reach the right one.
For any question about this policy or your data, contact info@dataexpert.net.in.
2. Where your data comes from
Two sources, and the difference matters:
- From your college. Partner colleges give us their student roll. That record — your name, parents' names, date of birth, registration number, course and contact details — reaches us from your institution, not from you. We treat it as institutional record and you cannot edit it directly; corrections are made by your college.
- From you. If your college has not listed you, or you register generally, you give us those details yourself.
3. What we collect and why
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Name, parents' names, date of birth, registration number, course, session | To match you to your college's record and to print your letters accurately |
| Email address and mobile number | To send your verification code, your letters, and programme notices |
| Payment records — amount, Razorpay order and payment identifiers, status | To take the registration fee, issue refunds, and keep accounts. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details |
| Coursework: lesson progress, assessment attempts, answers and marks | To run the programme and issue your results |
| Login sessions and IP address | To keep you signed in, and to rate-limit abuse of sign-in and code-sending |
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not profile you, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
4. Our lawful basis
We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you register, and for the legitimate uses permitted by section 7 of the DPDP Act where you have voluntarily provided data for a purpose you asked us to carry out. Payment and tax records are additionally kept to meet legal obligations.
Registration on this portal is for students aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly process the data of a child. If you believe a person under 18 has registered, tell us and we will delete the account.
5. How your data is protected
- We do not collect your Aadhaar number. We previously stored it, encrypted, where a college's roll happened to include it. Nothing in the programme needed it, so we removed the field entirely and deleted the data. We will not ask you for it.
- We never see your payment details. Card, UPI and bank information goes directly to Razorpay and never reaches our systems.
- Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form.
- Your date of birth is masked to the birth year alone wherever a record is displayed.
- All traffic is served over HTTPS.
- Access is scoped by role: your college sees only its own students.
- Sign-in, code-sending and payment endpoints are rate-limited against abuse.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.
6. Who else sees it
- Your college — its own students' registration status and records. This is the point of a college portal.
- Razorpay Software Private Limited — processes payments. Your card and bank details go to them directly and never through us.
- Our hosting and email providers — store the database and deliver transactional email on our instructions.
- Authorities — only where the law requires it.
We do not transfer your data outside India except where a provider above stores it in another country as part of ordinary service delivery.
7. How long we keep it
Registration and academic records are kept for as long as your account exists and for so long afterwards as is needed to prove a letter or a result we issued was genuine — those documents are relied on by universities and employers years later. Payment records are kept for eight years, as tax law requires. Expired verification codes, sessions and rate-limit counters are deleted automatically.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may ask us to:
- tell you what data of yours we hold and who we have shared it with;
- correct anything inaccurate — note that record details supplied by your college are corrected through your college, and we will tell you if that applies;
- erase data we no longer need for the purpose it was collected for;
- withdraw your consent, which we will act on for anything not required by law or needed to keep a document we have already issued verifiable;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated.
Write to info@dataexpert.net.in. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Cookies
We set only what is needed to run the site: a session cookie to keep you signed in, a short-lived signed cookie during registration, and a cookie remembering your light or dark theme. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies, so there is nothing here to opt out of.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you by email where the change materially affects how your data is used.
